*NUMBER CHANGE*

If the sentence is singular, change it to the plural; if it is plural, change it to the singular.

Over the next few weekends, we are going to several festivals that are happening in different towns around the province. They will all be short drives as we want to spend our time at the festivals rather than on the roads. At this time of the year, thunderstorms are always possible, but we are hoping that they won’t affect our plans.

Are we allowed to voice our thoughts here?

I'm very conflicted: not sure if the sentence is too simple or it's just me not noticing the obvious.

I've checked online, and it seems that I can use 'over the weekend' here, even though it sounds 'wrong' to me. I'm also unsure about the 'thunderstorm' part.

Over the next weekend, we are going to a festival that is going on in a town in the province. The drive will be short, which is nice because we will be spending more time at the festival than on the road. At this time of year, there is a good chance of a thunderstorm, but hopefully that it won't affect our plan.

Well done, Audrey and Liudmila!

Good try, Cecilia, but there are a couple mistakes in your answer. Can you spot them?

BaileyPelech, Your answer is quite good, but try to retain the original meaning of the sentences as much as possible.

Olena, those are very good questions, and you are more than welcome to voice your thoughts here!

"Over the weekend" sounded awkward to me as well -- and I had to look online to see if others used it. In the plural, it makes good sense; in the singular, I would prefer to use "Next weekend".

I'm not sure why you don't like "thunderstorm". It's a relatively common word, at least in Canada.
