I believe in my Sentence 1. I might have not added a phrase. So, I'd like to update it to:

Sentence 1. Of all the seasons, summer is the best time of the year in Canada.

Olena, technically you added a phrase (a noun phrase appended to the subject), but it isn't really what I was looking for.

Audrey, your last sentence includes a dependent clause, not an independent one.

Cecilia, your second sentence uses a comma splice to join to independent sentences.
