I hope this is correct:

Sentence 1. Two years ago I had a lot of plans for the summer.
Sentence 2. Prior to breaking my leg in a biking accident, I had a lot of plans for the summer.
Sentence 3. I had a lot of plans for the summer, and then we decided to move.

Bailey, your third sentence uses a relative pronoun to link the added clause. This actually makes it a dependent clause.
