Add a phrase: Santa Claus arrives at the mall on Saturday to give out gifts. Add a dependent clause: Santa Claus arrives at the mall on Saturday where children will be waiting for him. Add an independent clause: Santa Claus arrives at the mall on Saturday, and he will greet kids there.
Sentence 1. Santa Claus arrives at the mall on Saturday, December 6, 2014. Sentence 2. Because Christmas is right around the corner, Santa Claus arrives at the mall on Saturday. Sentence 3. Santa Claus arrives at the mall on Saturday, but we're going to stay home this weekend.
Liudmila, your answers are correct, but a little unexpected. In your first sentence, you added an infinitive phrase; and in the second, you added a relative clause! Very interesting!
