I'm extremely torn apart here. On one hand I want to put AT everywhere as it seems that Safeway and many bookstores could be 'general locations'. On the other hand, Safeway and many bookstores might not be 'collections of more specific locations' as well as the knowledge of Starbucks being located within (inside of) the store, I believe we should be using IN here. (I have a lot of other questions in my head about what else is wrong here. We'll see tomorrow, I guess.)
Seeing Starbucks open at(in) Safeway and at(in) many bookstores now I wonder if it will lose customers from its regular outlets.
There are still a few problems to correct, but I will explain them when I post the solution.
Olena, you ask another great question, and I agree entirely with your suspicion. My tendency would be to use the preposition "at" -- but Starbucks can be found literally *in* the other stores. I think it's a judgement call.
