**Bonus Grammar Question**
This was heard on a flight announcement. The
first person to explain the error
and correct it gets an extra point! The use of mobile devices are now
permitted.

We should write "is" according to the rule for the noun - verb agreement. "Use" is a single noun; therefore, we must use single form of the verb "to be" for the third person "use".
