*NUMBER CHANGE*
If the sentence is singular, change it to the plural; if it is plural, change it to the singular.
When our children went to the lakes north
of here, they swam in the shallow parts of those lakes, canoed in other places,
took photographs of some spectacular birds, hiked through the forests, and slept in tents at night.
